Halloween Fun

At school the kids made jersey costumes in their classrooms and then got to have a parade before their parties.

I made popcorn hands for Kya's class party.

Briley, aka cute little monkey, came over on Halloween to trick or treat with the cousins. It was so fun to have her! Conor was Zorro, Kya an astronaut, for the second year in a row, and she is hoping it fits her next year, which I'm trying to prep her for the fact that it won't fit. It was already a little small this year. Crew was the honeypot which we've had since Conor was a baby and we love it. Thanks Aunt Suzy!

Our ward is awesome! We had a party in the afternoon on Halloween at a farm of a family in our ward. The hayride took the kids over to a pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin to paint. Kya rode but Conor didn't want to and then regretted it later as usual. If he's not prepared ahead of time for activities then it is hard for him to do them. My fault for not preparing him for it. oops. There was a trunk or treat at the farm party and then we trick or treated in our neighborhood to a few of our friends houses and then it was time for that cute little monkey to go home. The honeypot and Mama stayed home to hand out candy and Daddy took Zorro and the Astronaut to beg for more candy around the neighborhood. It was a great day and we ended up with tons of candy. Crew now knows what candy is and can't get enough of it!

SNOW

Here's what we did after school yesterday. Kya helped the neighbor kids build a cute little snowman that I didn't get pics of. Crew loved being out there. He's such a good sport. Unfortunately we have a rude neighbor who allows their dog to poo in everyone's yards, so Conor found a nasty, smelly surprise under the snow. yuck! It got all over his pant leg. He was a good sport about it though and just said, "those neighbors should put up a fence around their yard so their dog could only poop in their yard." Funny how a 2nd grader has more logic than the adult owners of that dog. It seems pretty simple to me too Con. The snow kept coming and coming so we have a lot more today and school was canceled. Yeah! So I'm sure we'll be back out again later. Hopefully no more surprises. Tom is sad he had to work. He wants to play too. Maybe he'll get home early enough to play today!

Sweet Trip

At the end of September we made the long trip to Arizona, where we got to meet our new SWEET nephew and cousin, Briston Jeffrey Massey. Conor said it perfectly when Auntie Chell asked what he thought of him, " He's perfect!"

Tom got his SWEET 6x8 Bull Elk after only 24 hours of hunting! I have to say it was way more exciting for me than I thought it would be and just as exciting for Tom as I knew it would be. Toms Dad and my Dad and Brother were there for it and my awesome Bro got it on video which we will always love him for. We are still getting over the adrenaline rush over it and I'm sure Tom will never get over it. This was a once in a lifetime hunt he was drawn for. Early Arizona Bull hunt. Guys who know about him getting drawn hate him for only having 3 bonus points. We've heard of guys with 15+ points still waiting for their chance. We pulled the kids out of school for it, which I was not too cool with but I've finally gotten over it now that Kya's 39 pages and Conor's 27 pages of school work are now complete.

Grammy felt bad for Conor and Kya having to do so much school work while on vacation, so she started paying them $1.00 per page and then brought us to the SWEET old fashioned candy store to spend some of their earnings. While there we got a great pic of all 5 grandkids on the front porch.
We brought the antlers over to show off to Grandma McDowell who I didn't get in a pic. Probably because she was beside me with her camera. We should take a picture of each other taking pictures sometime. ha ha. I got some pics of Crew in his, "Daddy's Lil' Huntin' Buddy," hat while he was chilllin' at Gramps' and Grandma's house.
After all this excitement we were exhausted and headed out on our two day journey home to rest for a few days and get caught up before starting back into everyday life. Tom was SWEET to help unpack and do laundry and stuff so I wouldn't feel overwhelmed with the aftermath of vacation after he went back to work. I so appreciate all he does for me and realize how lucky I am to have him but don't think for a second that I'm going to let him hang that awesome rack in our family room!

These two clean up nice!

I was looking at pictures on my camera and found these two. It totally made my day. Crew loves Tom. We think he feels extra close to Tom because when he was laid off he was around during the day a lot more and Crew was able to bond with him more than usual. When Tom is home Crew is almost always at his side. It is the sweetest thing and Tom loves it! Don't they just make you smile?

Crew is 1 year old!

(click on collage to see better)
A year, and about a month, ago (yeah I'm a little slow posting) our precious little Crew dude was born. He has truly been a joy. We have all loved having him in our family. He had a rough start and we are so grateful that our sweet little Crew is so healthy and active now. He is our little dare devil. Tom says that he is in 4 wheel drive all the time. It's so true, one second he'll be playing on the ground and the next he will have figured out how to scale the couch and onto the counter. Nothing stands in his way. We celebrated by inviting Nate, Kindy and Briley to the lake for a picnic and then had cake and presents at our house. We got Crew a little quad. He loves it! and of course is very daring on it. Good thing it doesn't have an motor. Don't worry though Conor and Kya double as motors, pushing him full speed all around the house.

Our Girl

Grammy made this dress for Kya. Isn't it beautiful! Kya wore it to church one Sunday and said, "this is what I want to wear for my first day of school!" I actually bought the pattern and fabric a while ago and didn't get around to sewing it so my mom did it for me. She's the best! I get my love of sewing from her. Thanks mom. You are amazing.

Grammy also made a couple of skirts for Kya for school and Auntie Chell made these adorable flip flops out of balloons. She loves her fun stuff to wear to school thanks Mom and Chell for making these fun things for our little school girl.
