At the end of September we made the long trip to Arizona, where we got to meet our new SWEET nephew and cousin, Briston Jeffrey Massey. Conor said it perfectly when Auntie Chell asked what he thought of him, " He's perfect!"
Tom got his SWEET 6x8 Bull Elk after only 24 hours of hunting! I have to say it was way more exciting for me than I thought it would be and just as exciting for Tom as I knew it would be. Toms Dad and my Dad and Brother were there for it and my awesome Bro got it on video which we will always love him for. We are still getting over the adrenaline rush over it and I'm sure Tom will never get over it. This was a once in a lifetime hunt he was drawn for. Early Arizona Bull hunt. Guys who know about him getting drawn hate him for only having 3 bonus points. We've heard of guys with 15+ points still waiting for their chance. We pulled the kids out of school for it, which I was not too cool with but I've finally gotten over it now that Kya's 39 pages and Conor's 27 pages of school work are now complete.
Grammy felt bad for Conor and Kya having to do so much school work while on vacation, so she started paying them $1.00 per page and then brought us to the SWEET old fashioned candy store to spend some of their earnings. While there we got a great pic of all 5 grandkids on the front porch.

We brought the antlers over to show off to Grandma McDowell who I didn't get in a pic. Probably because she was beside me with her camera. We should take a picture of each other taking pictures sometime. ha ha. I got some pics of Crew in his, "Daddy's Lil' Huntin' Buddy," hat while he was chilllin' at Gramps' and Grandma's house.
After all this excitement we were exhausted and headed out on our two day journey home to rest for a few days and get caught up before starting back into everyday life. Tom was SWEET to help unpack and do laundry and stuff so I wouldn't feel overwhelmed with the aftermath of vacation after he went back to work. I so appreciate all he does for me and realize how lucky I am to have him but don't think for a second that I'm going to let him hang that awesome rack in our family room!
