Labor day weekend

While Gramps and Grandma were here we celebrated Crew's 3rd birthday with swimming, pizza, cake and presents. That is Batman on a motorcycle on his cake. He calls him Thatman. For the next few days he carried around one of the gift bags with his presents inside and his balloon tied to it. When he went to bed, the bag went with him and when he woke up in the morning and came downstairs, he was dragging the bag with him.
Crew makes our lives more bright each day. He is very energetic and fun and says the funniest things. Tom and I smile and laugh every day over something he has said or done. We're so happy to have this amazing little guy in our lives every day. We love you Crew Asher!

We brought G&G to the airport on Monday and stayed to watch the plane leave. It is a teeny tiny little airport so we could get up close to the plane. I had to take a pic of the baggage car thingy cause the kids were super excited about it. Kya said, "I think that's the one from Toy Story." As you can see Taft was unimpressed with it all.

After we saw the plane off Tom packed us some burritos and we went to our new favorite fishing spot. Since it was Labor Day and we needed to celebrate. Tom caught the only fish of the day.

(So now that I'm caught up on the present I am going to try and post some fun stuff from the spring. I got a bit behind during my pregnancy and move over the summer. Since I print out our blog as a family album/journal I'm hoping to get caught up.)

Taft's Blessing

On Sunday Tom blessed Taft. He gave him a beautiful blessing. It made me think of the many other priesthood blessings that he has given our children during their lives and will still give and I realized how special that first fathers blessing is to give them a good little start in their lives. We feel extremely blessed to have this precious little guy as part of our family. We are all so in love with him!

Gramps and Grandma McDowell were able to fly in for the blessing.

Crew loves getting his pic taken lately. So while I was taking a pic of Con and Ky wearing their matching school shirts he jumped off his bike and came running to get in the pic. He's such a funny little dude!

Crew and Taft and I sent two of our best friends off to school. Crew was sad that they had to go back so we brought a lunch to the park and called daddy to come join us on his lunch break.

It's tradition in our family for daddy to dress the baby's to come home from the hospital. This time he had a few helpers. Lucky guy!

It's a...........

I told the kids I would make rice krispie treats and color them blue or pink and cover them in chocolate and when daddy got home from work we'd cut into them so they could find out if we were having a boy or girl. We were afraid Crew might say something and ruin the surprise since he was at the ultrasound with us. But if you ask him he still says, " it's a gool," and "I'm having a baby brudder." So yeah, our secret was safe with him. So here was the result:

We are so excited to be having another fun little guy around our house. We were all super excited to find out that it was a boy except for Kya. She got upset and didn't want to talk about it for a day or two. But she got over it and the other day came up to my belly and said, "hi baby boy," and then kissed my belly, then she kept telling him that she loves him. It was so fun to see that. I love that girl so much! These boys are lucky to have her as a sister.
