Weekend

(If you click on the collage to enlarge, please notice Kya's orange soda mustache. She is the only one in our family who LOVES soda so poor thing only gets it every once in while. She feels so deprived.)
Kya's soccer game was canceled so the only scheduled thing we had was Conor's District Pine Wood Derby Race at the mall on Saturday. He placed 9th out of 49 other wolves. We're so proud and he is already talking about how he wants to make next years car.

We went to the park to try out our new kite. We bought, "a good one," this time.... we didn't get it off the ground once. We had fun trying but decided to go to walmart real quick to get a cheap one. It was way cuter and flew much better. We were almost out of daylight but still had a blast.

On Sunday evening Conor and Kya wanted me to take pictures them airborne. Can you tell we have the early church schedule and get a little bored by the end of the day. I also snuck in a few of Tom snuggling with his kids. I love taking pics of him snuggling his babies.

I love easy going unplanned weekends when we can just kick back and enjoy.

Spring Break 2010 - Conors Baptism

Conor and his cousin Bryant wanted to be baptized together while we were all together. They both turned 8 recently. It was a very sweet program and we're grateful for everyone who participated and helped make it the beautiful service it was. We are so proud of these two and the decision they've made to follow Jesus. I am so surprised at their age how much they know and understand about what it means to be baptized. The Lord truly knew what he was doing when he said that this is the age of accountablity. In my eyes Conor is still just my baby. But he truly understands and desires to follow Christ. I asked him the next day if he felt different and his response was, "I felt different the second I got out of the water!" I hope he'll always have the desire he has now to choose the right and always remembers how he felt on this special day.
Conor likes to tell people that he was baptised in the same font that his daddy was.

Sweet picture.

Tom said that whoever smiles for the picture would get a treat so our nephew, Avery jumped in and smiled big. I think Tom owes that kid a treat!

This is Conor with his Massey side of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who were there. We took a professional pic of his McDowell fam that morning so eventually we'll have that one.

Spring Break 2010 part 4

All of Gramps' and Grandma's kids and Grandkids were together for a couple of days. It's so fun to see that cousin bond. Some of them haven't been together for years and they were all instantly best friends. So fun!
This is me meeting Saffron for the first time. She's our newest niece and sweet as can be. Gotta love that hair!
These two are the first grandkids and born only about three weeks apart. They have so much fun together.

This is Kya and her closest in age girl cousin, Sierra, only 4 months younger. All of her other girl cousins are at least 4 1/2 years younger. She loves all her boy cousins and has a lot of fun with them too, but it's so fun to see these two together.

The girls decided to have a picnic and of course before long the boys decided that it looked pretty fun............
more and more kept showing up.......
and soon it was a PARTY!

I thought it was cute that Crew was using the same mowers that Conor and Bryant used to play with when they were his age.

Conor Bryant and Avery having fun up in the rocks.
Grandma purchased the perfect thing. A soft foam sword for each kid. They were all entertained by those for hours.(This is just above Gramps and Grandma's backyard).
The boys kept their swords in their shirts ready for battle at any moment.

And ever few moments they would break out in battle. It was so fun to watch.

Tom thinks he's a kid too most of the time. I think next time Grandma should buy one more for Tom.

No more equal competition.

I brought some stuff to show my sis in laws how to make their own hairbows. With all the girls being born lately we need lots of cute bows!
Thanks to Grandma the kids had crafts too.

Spring Break 2010 part 3

On our way to hang out with Tom's family we were able to stop and see Grandma Massey. It's been a while since we've seen her so we were glad we got to. We love you Grandma.

Spring Break 2010 part 2

Next stop was Pratt n Korts to meet little Jhett. He was precious. We couldn't get enough of him and he was so patient to let us all sqeeze on him for a couple of days.

We packed a lunch and went to the zoo. It was perfect weather and the perfect size zoo to get all the way through before the exhaustion meltdowns set in.

Why do some of those monkeys swinging from the bars look so familiar?
For some reason Kya was the most excited to see the Lion. This is her showing me on the map that indeed we were at the Lions.
Thanks for taking us to your zoo Auntie Kortney and Uncle Pratt, it was way fun!

Sring Break 2010 part 1

We went to Az for Spring Break and accomplished a ton. It was tons of fun and I have way a ton of pics. So I'm gonna have have to break it into parts. Our first stop was Grammy and Papa's.
Conor had a blast trying out all of Papa's cool toys. This is his new wood splitter.
Hey Papa shouldn't you be paying him to do this?

You can always count on Grammy for a bedtime story. The kids seem to always pic one of my mom's ancient fragile little books from her childhood that have a price of like 10 cents printed on them. Grammy is so sweet to share them. Um Crew I think you're suppose to be settling down for bed, not jumping on the bed. Crazy boy!

For the second year in a row the good 'ol EB found us at Grammy's house. We're always a bit concerned that he won't know where we are. I think we were finding plastic eggs he hid days later. There may still be some so if Briston gets lucky he may find some while he's crawling around. We had a way good Easter Dinner with Jeff n Chell and that cute little Briston boy. That awesome cake was made by me.

I tryed to pose these two little Binki buddies. Crew was so excited to hold a baby, while Briston was trying to be a little runaway. But by the end they were both laughing.

Cute Boys!

Pine Wood Derby

Conor won 2nd place at his first Pine Wood Derby! They used this high tech computer system for calculating who won and they raced dozens of heats to determine the winner. Tom and I had never seen it done this way even though we've both been in scouting. It was impressive! Con drew a picture of what he wanted his car to look like and with only a little help from mom and dad, it turned out to look exactly like his drawing. At the end of April he'll be racing at the district race. Go Conor!!!
